I remember being captivated by images of sweeping views from a mountain top, across a landscape of lush green fields and forest, interspersed with a myriad of sparkling lakes. We started off safe and lived in the suburbs of Sydney, working amongst the countless Irish and English who had come for the year. After four months, I did a 3 week trip up the east coast and it was then that I decided I had to get out of Sydney and experience the real Australia.

An Adventure In South Africa
South Africa has become a popular destination for the Irish with the promise of sunshine, beaches, vineyards and sightings of the Big 5 (lion, buffalo, hippo, rhino, elephant). Travelling Solo
I’m not sure what made me decide to do it, but one day I decided to quit my very stable and well-paid job, pack my bags and travel Asia on my own for four months. I wanted to see more of the world at my own pace, to my own agenda and write all about it. Within 6 weeks of making my decision, I was on a plane to Vietnam with nothing more than a guide book to South-East Asia, a new camera, a pad and pen and a vague idea of where I wanted to go.
