WORLD DESTINATIONS
To read about destinations around the world click here.
I’ve always loved to travel and I don’t think that love will ever die. Travel makes me inquisitive, like I’m seeing the world for the first time and I can’t ask enough questions. My camera comes out and I can’t stop clicking because I want to capture every moment, every scene.
I have travelled Australia, New Zealand, South America, Africa, Asia, Europe and America, but there are so many places I still want to see. I dream of going to the Galapogos Islands, seeing the Northern Lights, standing at the end of the world in the Antartic and trekking in Patagonia. These are, but a few of the places I would like to see before I die.
I do a regular world travel slot on Ireland AM, TV3 (view slots here) chatting about different destinations around the world. Photography holidays in Morocco, glamping in Derry, you name it I’ll talk about it and then I’ll write about it. By giving holidays a theme I feel I’m inspiring people to consider alternative holidays, or at least making it easier for people to find what they’re looking for. I’ll tell you how to get there, where to go and what to see. If I’ve been there recently, I’ll fill you in on all the details.

Hi I seen you on tv 3 this morning Thurs 16 Feb. You were talking about New Zealand and motorhomes.Do you cover Australia as well. You gave a price of 1180 for 2 weeks including flights.Could you contact me please. My mobile is 0863470883. Monday afternoon is probably the best time for me. Many Thanks. Valerie Farrelly
Hi Valerie,
Thanks for getting in touch. The New Zealand deal is with Trailfinders who are very good at arranging trips to Australia and NZ. I’ve not yet done Australia for Ireland AM but hope to in the next few weeks. However, I would suggest calling Trailfinders and they will talk you through your options and a motorhome is a great way to see Australia as well. It also saves on accommodation and allows you to stay in national parks or close to the beach which is a major bonus over there!
I hope this helps!
Kind Regards,
Julianne
Hi I am thinking of going to Perth in September for 16 days I am on a budget what’s the cheapest time to travel and the shortest route I can’t afford 4* hotels but also don’t want to stay in a hostel
Many Thanks
Carol
Hi Carol,
The cheapest time of the year to travel to Australia is generally mid April to mid June. As long as the departure date is between this, you should get a decent fare. Tickets are generally valid for a year so the return date does not need to be during these dates. At present, the best price is with Cathay Pacific routing via Amsterdam & Hong Kong to Perth – €919 inclusive of taxes leaving Ireland between 15 Apr and 20 June. However if you are determined to head in Sept. check out http://www.skyscanner.ie which will give you different flight options, or I would go into trailfinders or gohop and chat to them as they often get the best deals. Going that far it may be worth stopping over somewhere for a few nights.
Here is some good info on perth:

When I went to Perth I stayed in a hostel, however you can get some good value hotels also, especially that time of year, it should not be so expensive. Airb&B is a really affordable option and will also mean you get to meet the locals: https://www.airbnb.com/search?location=Perth+Australia&af=1922719&c=A_TC%3Dbmrkeadxbd%26G_MT%3Db%26G_CR%3D15230938696%26G_N%3Dg%26G_K%3Dcheap%20places%20to%20stay%20in%20perth%20australia%26G_P%3D&gclid=CIOcs9L4_rQCFdQ92wodkVYAGw
