I lived in a tent for three months on a beach in Western Australia. The memories of that time are some of the best I have. Waking every morning to sunshine, pulling on my bikini and walking a few paces to the water’s edge for my morning swim. Cooking breakfast over the gas stove, lazing on the beach, enjoying the simplicity of life.

I was on Ireland AM (click here to see Alan and I talking) this morning talking about Glamping, a new(ish) trend taking Europe by storm. What is Glamping? It’s basically glamour camping. The campsites are all set up with tepee tents, tree-houses, vintage caravans or eco-lodges and all you have to do is move in! Enjoy drinks by the campfire, BBQ’s and get back to nature, living by candlelight. It’s a brilliant family holiday option, what kid doesn’t want to sleep in a tent?

If you don’t know what Glamping is then I’ll fill you in on all the details tomorrow, but in short, it’s glamour camping. Chic campsites set up around Europe, accommodation in tepee’s, African safari tents, vintage caravans and even tree-houses. The sites tend to be in remote and beautiful areas and some are even on working farms. For those looking for a slightly ‘different’ holiday this is it!
